Terrence Howard and Cuba Gooding Jr. are starring in the long awaited Red Tails, a major motion picture dramatizing the Tuskegee Airmen story. The highly anticipated film is progressing despite various twists during the script treatment and pre-production.

Anthony Hemingway of CSI and The Wire fame is at the director’s helm, with George Lucas and John Ridley taking on writing credits. The film will also star popular music artist Ne-Yo and rapper Method Man. Lucas has denied rumored plans to reshoot several scenes, and the release for Red Tails is expected to occur in mid to late 2010.

The Tuskegee Airmen were the first African American aviators of the WWII era, earning recognition as valiant fighters and pilots despite serving under a segregated American military.
