John Legend will be in Detroit for B.L.A.C. Magazine’s Distinguished Speakers Series on February 25. The event intends to challenge and inspire the metro Detroit community to work towards a better future, through Legend’s words and songs.
Legend’s passions and achievements are not relegated solely to music. He recently launched the Show Me Campaign, where fans are encouraged to donate funds to aid conditions for victims of extreme poverty.
B.L.A.C. (formerly African American Family Magazine) Magazine’s Distinguished Speakers Series presents America’s most intellectual, inspirational and informative speakers, who engage broad-based audiences by addressing issues such as history, race, literature, economics and education. The series has hosted notables such as the late Coretta Scott King, Nobel Laureate and Pulitzer Prize recipient Toni Morrison, Sheila Johnson (the world’s first black female billionaire), entrepreneur Christopher Gardner and the Former President Bill Clinton.
“Give Me Just One Night with John Legend” is presented by Ford Motor Company and produced by B.L.A.C. magazine. Partial proceeds will benefit The Yes Foundation, a local 501c3 nonprofit organization that works to promote literacy in Detroit.
