Harris Publications has announced the launch of Juicy, a celebrity gossip magazine marketed towards the 18-34 demographic. The move is surprising considering that most media consumers are trending away from print sources as online content becomes more accessible.

According to Media Daily News, Juicy will begin with a circulation of 150,000 and a newsstand cover price of 4.99. Harris Publications also produces XXL Magazine. The release states that Juicy is the “first celebrity and lifestyle magazine for African-American women to sit on national newsstands alongside People, US Weekly, In Touch, Life & Style and OK”.

The premiere issue will launch in May 2010, but XXL blog comments would make it appear that no on is holding their breath for Juicy.

Hustletown Readers, in the age of online everything, do you think this print publication a wise investment?
